There’s often a lot of chaos and confusion and many business owners find themselves left without the website support they were promised. We know that the key to providing local businesses with well-branded, secure sites that don’t break the bank all goes back to how those sites are built. Using WordPress–a universally recognized web development platform–we’re able to create beautiful sites that were previously unavailable to small businesses without big budgets. Learn how WordPress websites can help your business or non-profit here.
As early as age twelve, Andrew Lightfoot was tinkering with technology and building his own computers. What started as a hobby, led to an interest in the inner workings of hardware and software, alike. In high school, Andrew taught himself HTML code and began building websites for friends and family. As a young adult, his design portfolio grew as he found himself creating sites for businesses and even an international non-profit. Having spent his most recent season as a software consultant, he found tremendous joy in constructing customized software platforms while working closely with each corporate client to determine their unique objectives.
Now, Andrew has shifted his focus to the small business world. With a passion to see local businesses and non-profits establish a credible web presence, he now works closely with each client to achieve that exact objective. Also, Andrew is a proud member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce connecting with businesses around Independence and the Kansas City metro.
Since designing her first t-shirt in fourth grade, Kelly has always had a taste for graphic design. Even before completing her degree in Commercial Art at the University of Central Missouri, Kelly was working in the industry. Now, with more than six years as a business owner, Kelly channels her fierce love of typography and her experience in small business branding to effectively work alongside clients to strengthen their brand and tackle their design obstacles. From local bakeries to international photographers, thriving non-profits to growing start-ups, there is no lack of diversity to the brands being shaped at Ampersand, her branding and graphic design firm. Some of the most rewarding clients are local non-profits such as Pro Deo Youth Center, Drumm Farm Center for Children, Japanese Sign Language Bible and Rachel House Pregnancy Resource Centers.
Having partnered with Matchstick, Kelly brings big picture branding to each website Andrew creates. Her graphics design skills help shape the each page of every launched website.
When they’re not working side by side on projects, Andrew and Kelly can be found in the kitchen, creating recipes or enjoying a cup of coffee while engaging in a friendly card game. They, along with their daughter Mae, reside in Independence near The Square, where they often enjoy an evening stroll and local dining.
